The Bustardthorpe Development is an embodiment of the Green Knavesmire 300 Strategy, York Racecourse's commitment to sustainability.
Embedding circularity, taking care of the ecosystem around the site and reducing reliance on mains water are pillars of the strategy which has the ambitious aim of reaching Net Zero by 2040.
​
The project is about more than providing new facilities and its architecture continues a complex relationship between enhancement of the racecourse setting
and an architectural legacy spanning almost three centuries.
